PROJECT: SHONA JEWELLERY WEBSITE (www.shonajewellery.co.uk)
Overview:
Shona Macaulay Fidgett designs and creates her own jewellery in her workshop in Glasgow. Shona asked Parker and Hobbes could they build her a website.
What We Did:
We did all the web design and web development for the Shona jewellery website. We also arranged web
hosting and domain name registration etc, along with building a content manager for the website and an online shop.
The Result:
Shona now has a brilliant fully functional website with a powerful database driven online shop that is seamlessly integrated with Paypal. The website also ranks consistantly in the top ten on Google for worldwide searches relating to "Glasgow jeweller".

PROJECT: THE DIRECT BOOT WEBSITE (www.directboot.co.uk)
Overview:
The Direct Boot website allows you to order clothing with your logo on it. Direct Boot recently hired
Parker & Hobbes to build their website, the centrepiece of which is a heavily customised online shop
which features a powerful order management system.
What We Did:
We did all the web design and web development for the Direct Boot website. We also arranged web
hosting and domain name registration for Direct Boot.
The Result:
At face value the Direct Boot website has all the hallmarks of a nice, crisp, clean online shop. But in
truth, it’s so much more than just an online shop. The back end for Direct Boot is more powerful and
featured packed than any shop back end we’ve ever constructed. Indeed, it’s no understatement to
say that the entire Direct Boot customer management system revolves around the online database
that we built for them! The owner had very clear ideas about what he wanted and we were only too
happy to go above and beyond his highest expectations. Another success story for everyone involved!

PROJECT: CALL CENTRE PLASMA (not viewable by the general public but call centre tours can be arranged upon request)
Overview:
Call centres have a lot of information that needs to be processed. They also need a system for distributing leads, tracking telephone enquiries, tracking web enquiries and tracking conversions. One of the greatest challenges for today's call centre managers is finding a way of dealing with all of this information.
What We Did:
We produced a software application which distributes website leads amongst call centre sales staff and also tracks all telephone/web enquiries along with conversion rates. The system also calculates and displays weekly profits. The application displays all this information on a large plasma screen which is wall-mounted inside the call centre.
The Result:
Both sales and admin staff at the call centre are now dealing with enquiries much more efficiently. The plasma screen is constantly refreshing which means management and call centre staff can see at a glance how well the company is doing.The system also puts the best salesperson at the top of the table and the worst salesperson to the bottom. This has helped increase staff motivation levels.

PROJECT: THE TOMMY CARRUTHERS WEBSITE (www.tommycarruthers.com)
Overview:
Up until 2002, Tommy Carruthers would be the first to admit he was as an unknown, struggling martial arts instructor based in Scotland. He ran a very small school based in the east end of Glasgow. Although he had no less than three websites, none of them appeared to be generating any significant degree of success for him or his club.
What We Did:
We carried out all the design and development work for Tommycarruthers.com, which included the
construction of a mailing list and the installation of an online discussion forum. We also managed his
internet marketing strategy for two years.
The Result:
Tommy Carruthers is now one of the most famous Jeet Kune Do practitioners in the world. He has
appeared in a variety of documentaries. He has been hired to do motion capture for a German company who make computer games. He travels the world doing seminars. His club has moved into a specious modern facility in an upmarket area of his city. He is currently producing his own DVD with the help of our business associates, Orbis Digital.

PROJECT: FRONTIER VEHICLE LEASING (www.frontierleasing.co.uk)
Overview:
When Frontier Vehicle Leasing decided to take their web presence to the next level, they knew that
they would need a website that was both cutting edge and extremely user friendly. Having heard
about other successful websites we’ve built for people in the motor trade in the past, they called upon us to construct their new, powerful database driven website.
What We Did:
We did all of the web design and web development for the Frontier Leasing website.
The Result:
Even though this was the 7th website we’ve built for someone in the motor trade, we still managed to create a site that was crisp, fresh and inviting. Not only that, but the Frontier website has a wealth of features that no other website in the motor trade has. For example, the owner of the website can now build customised, unique web pages for each and every vehicle record that he has stored on his database. There are no limits to the amount of pictures, text, cars, web pages or page layouts that this website can have! This website was a pleasure to build and was designed, built and launched within two weeks! More importantly, we predict it will have paid for itself within two months! This website WILL be an over-whelming success!

PROJECT: GET FULLY FURNISHED
Overview:
As far as we’re aware, the management of Get Fully Furnished started trading on Ebay a few years ago and existed quite happily this way for quite some time. The Get Fully Furnished venture was a roaring success on Ebay and this year the management decided to take the leap and get a dedicated top of the range website for their company.
What We Did:
The design for the website was carried out by somebody else. However, we did all the web development for the website. We also set up and arranged web hosting and domain name purchase. Finally, we launched the site and provided free training on how to get the very best from the new Get Fully Furnished website. Incidentally, we do this with every online shop we build!
The Result:
A powerful, database driven online shop which has the capabilities of having an unlimited amount of web pages, text, images, items and page layouts. The management of the website now have COMPLETE control of the website and know they can call upon us for free technical support whenever they need it.
NOTE: The Get Fully Furnished website is brand new, so at the time of writing we have no information
about how well the site is doing yet in terms of sales. However, we expect some feedback on that side
of things soon and, with the owner’s permission, we will post an update in the near future.

PROJECT: LETTERMASTER (an offline application - demonstrations can easily be arranged upon request)
Overview:
If your company is involved in providing any kind of service to other businesses or individuals then the chances are that somebody at your company spends a great deal of time typing lots and lots of letters. This may include welcome letters, terms of contracts, renewal notices, reminders and a range of other letters.
What We Did:
We created an application which calculates which letters are due to be produced by a company on any given day. Upon literally one click of the mouse, every single outbound letter that the company has to produce is created as an elegant Microsoft Word document (including, all addresses and content filled out perfectly every time).
The Result:
With just one mouse click the application can create a folder on your C drive and place all of your
company's outbound letters inside that folder. This saves massively on time and also reduces the
chances of human error. It's also idiot proof because if you forget to click the button one day then
it remembers and carries all due letters on to the next day. Furthermore, if you keep clicking the
button then it will not produce duplicates.

PROJECT: CLIENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR WEB UPDATERS (www.webupdaters.co.uk)
Overview:
The Webupdaters offer a website maintenance service to people who need to have their website updated regularly. Because of the nature of their work, they needed a system for accurately organising and recording website updates, contacting clients, recording agreements and generally carrying out the day to day duties of a website maintenance company.
What We Did:
We constructed a customised application for the website which allows both clients and webupdaters to log on and organise their dealings with each other. So, whenever anyone logs onto their system and sends a message or carries out a task, their name and details are automatically recorded and time stamped. All of this makes for an extremely efficient business application.
The Result:
The webupdaters are now better organised than ever. Their clients can now log on and off at any time and keep track of what work has been carried out to their websites. Furthermore, the webupdaters are using their system to handle customer support issues online.

PROJECT: STAFF STATUS TRACKER (an intranet application that is not viewable by the public -
demonstrations available on request)
Overview:
In today's fast paced, busy office environment it is easy for staff to quite literally go missing amidst all
the noise and activity. This can lead to confusion when someone calls and asks to speak to a member of staff. It can also have obvious detrimental effects on the company's overall efficiency.
What We Did:
We constructed a secure intranet application which enables staff members to log on when they are at their desk and to record when their breaks begin and end. They can also declare where they are going whenever they are away from their desk (e.g., on holiday, at a meeting, on holiday etc).
The Result:
Telephone enquiries are handled far more efficiently. Fire regulations are met with spectacular ease. Staff are more productive and can easily enjoy the benefits of flexitime, if they so desire.

PROJECT: SALES ASSISTANT ORGANISER (another intranet application - please call for a demo of this software)
Overview:
If you have a sales team who are dealing with lots of enquiries, then your sales people need a system for managing their prospects, enquiries and hot leads.
What We Did:
We constructed a system for that allows sales agents to manage their entire working day. This includes a facility for recording conversations with prospects, rating leads and diarizing customers who need to get contacted at a later date.
The Result:
Sales staff who use this application are now able to focus their energy on selling, instead of doing paper work! The life for the sales manager has also been made considerably easier. Leads are being handled efficiently, customer service is at a new level and conversion rates are up.
